Speaking biography

Ron has delivered programs to over 1000 audiences ranging from a handful of top executives to a convention hall full of go-getters. He has presented in 47 states, three Canadian cities, and throughout Australia. Most of his speaking assignments are generated through referrals and follow-on assignments.

Speaking from experience, to experience

His core competencies in business, leadership, and projects are forged hands-on. As the founder of nine businesses Ron has experienced, dealt with, and can talk first-hand about the inevitable challenges associated with new and growing companies.

In his management consulting firm (established in 1988) The Mentor Group, he has advised and assisted in the launch of literally scores of companies, products, and services. On four occasions Ron served as the interim turn-around executive for troubled firms. Called in by lenders, venture capitalists, or owners, Ron knows what it's like to lead organizations through adversity and successfully emerge.

Prior to the formation of the Mentor Group, Ron served as a VP of the Marketing Division in a Fortune 500 defense electronics company. His responsibilities included managing an expense budget of $12M, a sales budget of $950M, and the administration of 36 world-wide field offices. This is where Ron honed his skills of collaboration, negotiation, and change management.

Ron started his first business to finance his education after serving in the USMC. He went on to found and manage firms in construction, distribution, manufacturing, telephony, and information technologies.

It is this real-world experience that Ron's audiences relate to. His experience doesn't stop there; nor does it end here: and his audiences know it.
